Newport Carnival & Community Events Association have held their second car boot sale of the year today (Sunday 8th May) at the Isle of Wight County Show Ground raising money for charity.
The carnival association teamed up with Wessex Cancer Trust (Isle of Wight) to raise as much money as possible with funds raised being split and shared equally between Newport and Wessex.
Chairman for Newport Carnival, Paddy McHugh said:
“It is great to organise and hold events on the Island, the car boot sales which we started in September last year are growing increasingly popular as the months go by.
“Over 100 traders attended today, with around 50% of the donations coming from buyers.
“We hope everyone who attended had a great time and hope to see you all and more at our next car boot sale, on Saturday 12th June 2022 at a new temporary venue of Newclose Cricket Ground at Blackwater – Charity to be announced.
“All the money donated to Wessex Cancer Trust will stay here on the Island”
