Jay Miller’s Circus, the Island’s biggest circus that comes to Wootton every summer welcomed Newport Carnival’s committee and royalty to enjoy an evening of fun, stunts and entertainment.
Newport Carnival & Community Events Association have over the years supported Jay Miller’s Circus in several ways, including last year having Granny Turismo perform before their circus showing after their 2023 main carnival was cancelled due to poor weather.
The committee were delighted to be asked to come along to the circus, they had ringside seats and were wowed by the daredevil stunts that were performed in front of them.
Paddy McHugh, chair of Newport Carnival said:
“It’s great to have been able to join up with Jay Miller’s Circus, they are always so supportive of what we do, it’s great to go and see them do what they do best”
Shane Thornton, vice-chair of Newport Carnival added:
“It was nice to see the carnival Royalty enjoy themselves with a fun night out for them.
“Additionally, it was great for the committee to have some downtime, and to give something back to them before our illuminated carnival took place to following day.”
