There was no main carnival in 2023 due to extremely poor weather. With the wind and rain battering the island we decided to cancel our main event and focus on the Illuminated procession typically held around a month after the main carnival.
And we are glad we did, the Illuminated was probably one of the biggest carnivals Newport has seen in a very long time, there was so much variety and entrants it was overwhelming.
